coconut palm fiber, edible pigments
180x430 cm

The direction I follow in my assemblage practice can be summarised in the words of master of assemblage and sculptor John Chamberlain, whose work on car parts is strikingly contemporary for a variety of reasons:

“I’m more interested in seeing what the material tells me than in imposing my will on it”.

The coconut palm produces special, soft and light fibers to wrap the riping coconuts.
I collected these fibers in Kenya and made a sculpture that represents my connections with these trees.
